Effective August 1, 2024, Greenville Family Medicine will no longer be an in-network provider with Aetna insurance.
For the past three years, our practice has tolerated a commercial contract with Aetna that includes a reimbursement rate substantially below the rate we receive from other commercial insurance companies. We have made multiple requests to negotiate a new contract over the past 6 months, aiming for terms that allow us to continue providing the high standard of care you deserve. Despite our best efforts, we received no response from Aetna.
Our primary goal is, and always has been, to provide the highest standard of care to our patients. Unfortunately, Aetna’s refusal to negotiate does not allow us to continue to meet this standard while remaining in-network. Despite this change, please be assured that you will not be terminated as a patient of Greenville Family Medicine. Effective August 1st, 2024, you will be classified as “self-pay” and will be eligible to receive a discount based on a sliding fee schedule. Payment will be expected at the time of service to receive the discount.
